Gardener Job in Phoenix, Arizona

The Gardener position is hands-on and reports directly to the Garden Curator. Primary Function: Assist with garden operations to Japanese garden standards. Tasks will include but not be limited to weeding, raking, cleaning, fertilizing, pruning, fixtures maintenance, sustainable plant management, integrated pest management, basic irrigation installation and repair, construction projects, and assisting with the garden volunteer program. · Assist with the Volunteer Program, including training as well as task assignment and supervision based on JFG guidelines. · Communicate effectively with the public, other staff, and volunteers. Encourage them to follow JFG guidelines. · Assist with public workshops. · Assist in pond management, including pest, aquatic plant, koi, and water quality management. · Maintenance and new construction of wood and bamboo structures, fences, and fixtures. · Follow the City of Phoenix health and hazardous material guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
