SPRING (Starting in April – Weather Permitting) Front, West, East & Around the Stone Gardens: • Fertilize all plants • Weed • Cut back any winter • Edge garden beds where they meet lawns • Mulch where needed (especially to help hold moisture) • Cut back Hydrangeas (if not done in the fall) • Cut back all grasses Back Gardens: • All of the above • Trim 3 evergreens by GC6 • Volunteers will plant the herb and vegetable gardens if they want them Summer: • Weed flower beds as needed • Dead head plants (especially the day lilies in the front garden) • Monitor garden watering (volunteers water Monday, Wednesday and Friday) Fall: • Weed all gardens • Cut back shrubs and plants that have bloomed • Rake leaves from garden beds Periodic: • Spray weeds on walkways and parking areas as needed (about 3 times a year) • Plant pots at the front in Spring, Fall (Volunteer will do the Christmas pots) • Source and plant annual flowers for colour throughout the summer General: • Communicate regularly with the Director in Charge of Grounds to address any issues and to obtain okay for the purchase of supplies.
