Business Address: 1337 Fox Harbour Road, Fox Harbour, NS, B0K 1Y0 Work location: same as above Type of Employment: Full-time-Seasonal/ 270-day contract Estimated Start Date: April 1st, 2023 Job Description: • Assist with landscape constructions • Tying • Weed, prune and trim trees and plants • Cut grass • Rake and collect refuse • Remove litter and garbage • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials • Lay sod or seed • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees • Apply fertilizers • Spray and dust trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens, as directed, to control insects and disease • Write daily basic progress reports • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens • Maintain lawns and grass along roadsides • Operate and maintain power mowers, tractors, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, snowblowers and other landscape maintenance equipment • Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment Requirements: - Education: No formal education is required - Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided. - Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling - Personal suitability: Reliability, Organized, Team player, Dependability - Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Hot, Dusty - Language: Basic level of English is required Salary: $15.50 to $16.00 hourly, 40.00 hours per week.
