Gardener Job in Hamilton, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
I am retired, Montessori private school owner in Ancaster, since 1984, (daughter runs business). I'm soon finishing a second round of chemotherapy. Doing well, a little tired. I'm moving from an apartment to a bungalow on Eleanor Ave (off Rymal, between Upper Sherman and Gage). Need help planting about 25 perennials and 5 - 6 shrubs. May need to take out 1 or 2 things and clean out an area, prepare the ground, etc. Will want to work in some good soil mix, I will provide. Will likely add mulch myself soon after. Planning to create a pleasant corner in an otherwise partly overgrown large yard (actually 3 lots there altogether). I'm hoping to get work underway on June 3, 4, and 5, afternoons, depending somewhat on the weather. I will not be moved in yet and may not be available in mornings. I am currently watering the plants on my balcony, and will have to get them moved to yard there. Some other workers will be inside the house. I expect to need at least 10 or 12 hours of help. Will be there myself, working with a few annuals, and expect to finish work on a few of the smaller perennials myself. Possibly, I will need 2 helpers at that time, or for 6 or 8 hours, if you have a friend? I have some gardening tools and a couple of hoses. I may need a few more hours a week or two later, as I may want help lifting a few flag stones (7 or 9 ?) into place, where I will put a bench, or a couple chairs. I need a big boost, as it is getting late to plant and there is a limit to my energy and what weight I can lift. I'll work on a design plan as soon as we have possession, over the weekend of June 1 & 2. I have some design training and was married to a horticulture (trees and shrubs) professor at Guelph for many years. I know not much compared to him, nor perhaps also you, but do have some experience and knowledge of gardening. Have just been reading a book called 'Gardening from a Hammock'! I will have visitors, including grandchildren from Switzerland, arriving early July. Busy! Thank you for your consideration. Happy to talk with you. In case you wonder, my phone is a cell, with a New Brunswick area code (where I had been living some years, until two years ago). Await your response. Daylene Lumis
