Do you love making flower beds look attractive?

I have a 6 flowers bed of varying sizes of which 2 are rock gardens that may contain trees, shrubs and perennials. The beds are either gravelled, bark or rubber mulch which of course doesn't seem to stop those pesky weeds. At the beginning of spring, I need the flower beds cleaned up; also having these beds weeded on a regular basis during spring through summer months. Maybe a little pruning of shrubs and replanting perennials. Is there someone that loves this type of work. I would really like you suggestions on improvement of these beds.
