Gardener Job in Strathcona County, Alberta

We are a busy husband and wife who are looking for a gardener / landscaper to help us with getting our garden looking like new again! The first owner of our acreage worked at the Devonian Gardens for over 20yrs, and planted many exotic plants on the property. Unfortunately, the second owner didn't upkeep the garden, and many plants became overgrown and didn't survive. We are the third owners looking to get the garden back into shape and back to it's former Beauty! There are many garden areas around the property that require pruning, weeding (you must identify what is a weed because there could be some cool exotic plants growing that we don't know about, we are usually surprised every year). We also have a small pond with Koi fish with a small waterfall feature. Around the pond has grass and weeds growing in the rocks. We are in need of someone to remove the rocks/gravel and put down new landscaping fabric to control the weeds, then put the rocks back in. There are many fruit trees around the property that need trimming as well. We do have all the yard tools you should need here, and if you need something else just let us know. We have a few grape vines that need trimming, as well as some raspberries (yellow and red) that need to be put in line. A vegetable garden that needs planting (probably low on the priority list). Basically, you won't run out of work here for quite awhile. Looking for full time (40hrs/ week) if you are available. If less, just let us know. We're flexible. Your primary responsibilities will include plant care, ensuring all greenery on the property thrives. You will also be involved in property clean ups, maintaining the outdoor spaces to the highest standard. Pruning will be a part of your regular tasks, contributing to the health and appearance of trees and shrubs. Additionally, you will handle weed control to keep our garden areas neat and flourishing. We offer a wage of $15-20 per hour for this role depending on experience. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, isn't afraid of hard work, and has a keen eye for detail in garden maintenance.
