Hello there! I'm Kyra, an intermediate gardener passionate about helping others grow their own food. I’m located in Clearfield, Utah, and offer my experience and enthusiasm to help you start and maintain your very own food garden. I have 3 years of hands-on experience, a completed gardening internship at Foodscaping Utah, and a voracious appetite for learning more. I’m constantly taking classes and experimenting in my own yard and garden. As a result, I understand the intricate details of plant care, from nurturing delicate herbs to maintaining unruly raspberry bushes. Whether it's preparing, planting, watering, or harvesting, I’ll ensure that your food garden receives the attention it needs to flourish. When it comes to preparing a garden space, I’m knowledgeable about various soil types and the components that make healthy, productive soil. I know how to maximize gardening space using a mixture of in-ground beds, raised beds, and containers that can work with a variety of budgets. I’m also familiar with various irrigation systems and am confident in helping you choose the ones that work best for your situation. When it comes to planting, I’m experienced in starting seeds indoors and in greenhouses, transplanting plant starts from stores/nurseries/neighbors, and placing them in the ideal space for optimal growth and production. When it comes to maintenance, I’m a huge fan of utilizing natural resources before putting synthetic chemicals in the soil, staying on top of weeds from the get-go, and giving each plant the water and nutrients it needs - no more, no less. Harvesting is especially fun and I encourage everyone to participate in it. I’m comfortable recognizing the signs each plant uses to indicate harvested. My hourly rate is $25, and I am dedicated to providing excellent service and giving you the tools and examples necessary to help you feel comfortable managing your own garden should you choose.
